As a part of the Community Response program, volunteer coaches will be trained in 2025 and available to support warm line referrals. The training manual has been developed and modeled after the paid coaching model. It is expected volunteer coaches will be available to support human resource managers in 2025. One element of this strategy is developing a 15 minute video on where to start to find resources in Buffalo County that could be a part of the employers orientation process. The City of Kearney has asked to have this type of resource. Every HR manager attending these quarterly meetings is asking the community to develop a community resource site or training to help them and their employees to navigate support.

As we continue to collect data around the Emergency Rental Assistance Program we have identified that households are not achieving sustainability like we had hoped. We believe this is attributed to the lack of accountability they were required to have in achieving short-term goals through their housing assessments and the lack of coaching that was available to help them be accountable. As families continue to reach out for housing supports (food, utilities, rent, etc) we will work toward a system that identifies one-time need versus long term or chronic needs. By doing so we will be able to determine the need for coaching and what that model will provide to the client to help in reaching sustainability.
