Our Collaborative utilized a portion of our Rural Schools Initiative Grant to help fund the new position of Career Academy Coordinator for 9 months in 2024. This helped the Coordinator have hours funded to get the Academy set up in partnership with Southeast Community College, to gain area business partnerships, to educate families and students about the academy, to get students signed up to participate in the academy and to get the academy's first semester started.

Work with local, state and federal funders to secure funding for training, education and wellness promotion for volunteers and partners of the Buffalo County Well-Being Collaborative. Promote recommended, required and enhanced training for volunteers. Build cross training opportunities between community work groups. Secure support of local, state and federal agencies.

Our schools and colleges collaborate closely to create career pathways for youth and adults in our community. They partner with local businesses to address evolving workforce needs. Through family coaching, GCC supports individuals pursuing education or training by assisting with supplies, books, or tuition costs.

Coordinator is now a part of Chamber of Commerce Board for Custer County, also sits on the state advisory for the States Chamber office for legislative issues, coordinator also is on the Salvation Army Board.
