Community Partners has been given an amazing opportunity to be housed on the UNK campus for the next year. The board created a list of 'engagement points' for the organization in the next year, many of these engagement opportunities have been completed or are getting started. Staff is engaging with multiple colleges to share the work, several retired professors have met with staff and donated toward the work and internships are growing deeper and more rewarding for all involved. UNMC nursing program worked with staff to launch three Community Assessment Population (CAP) projects around opioid prevention, distribution of narcan and food security. UNMC intends to connect three CAP projects every semester to leverage community work 12 months per year. The organization has also joined Give Nebraska in 2025 to connect with UNK faculty and staff in a statewide fundraiser in 2025. Educational partners are required sectors to be represented on every collaborative, board, and community work groups.
