Staff supports and facilitates a monthly meeting, Salud para Todos, to define needed trainings for system partners and volunteers. Two bi-lingual Mental Health First Aid trainers were funded by BHECN in 2023 and they provided trainings in Central NE in 2024. They are the only bi-lingual mental health trainers in Nebraska outside of a few in Omaha. These two trainers continue to increase their 'train the trainer' skills to offer additional training. They have been asked to train others in surrounding counties, in which our funders have supported the geographic challenge to meeting needs in other communities with these shortages. It will be the collaboratives focus to continue to build these services in our county and beyond in 2025+. The new funding from Nebr. Department of Economic Development will support two bi-lingual childcare champions to serve 26 central NE counties to find persons willing to become high quality licensed childcare professionals. A challenge we need to overcome is the requirement of national programs for non English speaking person to register electronically for trainings. We are also needed to build a better system to register people and promote.
