Details: Workshops held during monthly statewide calls, led by lived experience partners, to identify principles, components of what we mean by "lived experience partnerships", and shared definitions. Definitions: Community and system transformation occurs when lived experience experts are welcomed, heard, and have the opportunities and shared power to co-create and co-design community and system solutions at all decision-making levels. Their voices are regarded to be of great importance and beneficial to facilitate appropriate and needed change within the community and at the system level. Lived Experience Expert: A person who has lived (or is currently living or at risk of living) with the issues the community is focusing on and who has valued insight to contribute about the system as it is experienced by individuals (e.g., a woman who was formerly or is currently experiencing homelessness who can offer insight into that experience). Youth and Family Engagement is a youth and family-centered, strength-based approach to establishing and maintaining relationships with families and accomplishing change together. (Children’s Bureau).
